A multimedia project that inspires me

One short multimedia piece that has always stuck out to me was Annie Rice's video on a woman who has Alzheimer's and aphasia. It was just so beautiful because the subject was unable to speak, Annie incorporates the voicemail recording of her voice into this piece so that we know what her voice sounds like. It also symbolizes a part of the subject that her family will never have again, so having her voice as the voicemail recording was really special. I also really like the way Annie shot it and how the jumps, in the beginning, go with the ringing of the phone. I think this project has been stuck in my head for so long because it's so emotional without having an actual interview of someone and the visuals allow the subject to speak for herself without her actually speaking.

I also think that I'm trying to bring the more interpretive side out of my photography, so I am really drawn a multimedia piece that has a lot more symbolism and depth to it than just what's on the surface. I know that I've been saying that a lot, but I really feel like I need to avidly continue to think about my photography in order to try and become the photographer I want to be.
